Microsoft's Free Antivirus Hits 2.0
Microsoft Security Essentials has been out for about a year now and recently MS has taken the wraps off the 2.0 version of the product. Deeper integration with Windows Vista and Windows 7 Firewalls and a brand new heuristics engine are under the hood. In testing we have found it to be competitive to other free antivirus offerings and Microsoft has gone a long way to address some of the major shortcomings of the original. Also, Security Essentials is very light on system resources, which is great for older, lower end machines.
